Sunday - 8/23/09 - Kazuo Matsui was honored by the Astros prior to their game today for reaching a 2,000 hits milestone that is recognized by the Japanese league. He is now a member of the exclusive Golden Players Club or Meikyukai, which Ichiro Suzuki and Hideki Matsui are also members. - Hideki Matsui blasted two home runs against the Red Sox in tonight's game to help the Yankees defeat the Red Sox 8-4.This was his second double-blast of the weekend as he also had 2 HRs and 7 RBIs on Friday against the Sox. I'm glad to see that his ailing knee is doing alright. Saturday - 8/22/09 - Junichi Tazawa was a cool cucumber last night pitching six scoreless innings to help the Red Sox beat the Yankees 14-1. The Japanese pitcher was needed by Boston to stop the bleeding and the 23 year old rookie did just that. Welcome to the big leagues young fella.
Sunday - 8/16/09 - Y.E. Yang defeats Tiger Woods at PGA Championship. The South Korean former aspiring bodybuilder becomes the first Asian-born player to win a major title on the PGA Tour and also the first person to over take Tiger Woods in the final round of a major in which Tiger was on top of the leaderboard. Woods was a previously perfect 14-0. I guess it sometimes takes one good Asian man to beat a great one.
To be the Man you have to beat the MAN. On Sunday, Y.E. Yang did just that.
